Geomag combines magnets and construction making them perfect for little builders.
We’ve been trying out Geomag, a unique construction toy which uses magnets, rods and panels. It’s fun and easy for little hands to manipulate giving kids the opportunity to build ambitiously limited only by their imaginations.
Not only is it fun, Geomag is a great educational toy which provides math, problem-solving, spacial, coordination, creative and thinking skills. My kids are big fans of the magnet building concept.
I think that’s because of the endless possibilities and creations they can make.
My 5 year old will make a road to drive his cars in and my 11 year old will create some mind boggling shape (he’s always been good with puzzles). My 9 year old daughter also loves the Geomag and it’s great to see Geomag Glitter range which is perfect for glitter lovers like my daughter (and me!)
If you are buying Geomag for the first time my advice is to buy one of the larger packs (sets contain between 30 to 120 pieces). We were give a 30 piece pack to facilitate this review and my kids needed more pieces to complete some of their masterpieces. This is pretty standard with all construction type toys though – the more pieces you have, the bigger the building!
Geomag is produced in Switzerland and became available in Australia earlier this year. It goes without saying (but still worth mentioning) that very young children and small round magnets should not be mixed. Geomag is suitable for kids 3+, I think 4-5 years (supervised) is an ok age to start playing with this type of toy and 5 and over should be fine.
