The Ikea Soft Toys for Education campaign.
This is a great initiative that is helping more children get the education they deserve. The campaign is a partnership between IKEA Foundation, UNICEF and Save the Children and runs from 9 November 2014 – 3 January 2015. The concept is simple, for every soft toy sold during the campaign IKEA will donate one Euro (AU$1.59) to UNICEF and Save the Children.
Over the past 12 years the campaign has helped more than 11 million children in 46 countries enjoy their right to a quality education. This year IKEA have added something new to the campaign, which is sure to excite all the little creatives in your house. IKEA will be holding a drawing competition giving kids the chance to bring their dream toy to life.
Kids can submit their drawings to IKEA who will select 20 finalists from each country. These will be sent to the IKEA design team in Sweden who will choose ten drawings which they will transform into a real life soft toy! The drawing competition runs from 9 – 30 November 2014 and you will need to be an IKEA FAMILY member to enter. It’s free and easy to become a member on-line or in-store.
This year not only can your child’s drawing come to life, but by purchasing a soft toy you can really make a difference to a child’s life.
